Well Now This Is Tedious
Well now this is just plain tedious.
After playing foosball at least once a day for the last 6 months, I can’t even hide behind my rookie partner to escape the mortification of my 4th….? 5th….?(I’ve lost count) whitewash. Besides Brendan has a 100% response rate to every game of foos since he started at SovTech and his time-to-table is around .45 of a second. You simply cannot fault the newbie for his keen attitude to master the game. Thankfully, this unprecedented speed has overshadowed Jono’s usually infallible response to foos games and his lack of game time was evident in a 9 – 0 drubbing at the hands of Chouler and myself. (Sorry Jono, had to salvage a bit of pride here).
As a seasoned campaigner, it is my responsibility to put at least one past the keeper and I failed dismally to trouble the defence. How can you work so hard at something and still be so kak? Its acoustic guitar all over again… In hindsight, my previous apologies were not sincere. There was no need for me to be sorry for getting klapped whilst I was still learning the game. But now I really am sorry. After playing for so long I have brought the name of SovTech foos into disrepute. Imagine if I was to go out into the open world wearing my SovTech tracksuit and get whitewashed by some dousche from Intellect or Accenture? It doesn’t bear imagining. I’ve let you down, I’ve let myself down, hell, I’ve let the game down. The foos gaming commission even contacted me and asked me to revoke my naming rights to the Shotgun and the Stanley Knife. (I told him to get fucked). But still, it’s embarrassing.
After that game, I seriously considered quitting the game forever. I was in a deep pit of despair, wrestling with my own self-worth. “Who needs the anguish and the shame?” I thought. “I’m done with this!”.
Then I looked deep within myself and realised that I had to keep on trying. I had to fight and get back on the horse. To avenge my former self and play to win back my honour and the honour of my family and my heritage!!!
Well that, and y’know, fomo…
